❓ Quick Answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Tap any question to smoothly reveal the answer.
Do I need to add a paper filter?
No. The fine stainless steel mesh is designed for direct paperless brewing. A paper filter would change the flow and remove more of the coffee's natural oils.
Which jars and cups will it fit?
It is designed for standard and wide-mouth Mason jars from 8–64 oz and works over many everyday mugs and cups. Always confirm that the support plate rests securely before pouring.
Will any sediment reach my cup?
The fine mesh helps keep grounds out, but metal filters can allow a small amount of very fine sediment and more coffee oils through than paper. Use a slightly coarser grind if needed.
What grind size should I use?
A medium grind is a practical starting point. If the coffee drains too slowly or tastes bitter, try a coarser grind. If it drains too quickly or tastes weak, try slightly finer grounds.
How should I clean the filter?
Discard the grounds and rinse the mesh promptly after each brew. If coffee oils slow the flow over time, soak it in warm water with a little white vinegar, gently brush and rinse thoroughly.
Can I use it for tea or cold-brew filtering?
The fine mesh may also work with many loose teas and for straining brewed coffee, but flow depends on particle size. Very fine tea dust or coffee sediment may pass through.
